Suriname

If you want to relax for a day and see blue water then Jacana is definitely worth a visit. The entrance is pricey but you can swim all day long until late in the evening. Before we lived in Suriname and went on holiday we needed adventure. Now we live in Suriname, and that's one big adventure, and then we sometimes need these kinds of days. So we really enjoy the smallest things, only a hot shower feels so good, Or a cup of delicious cappuccino. Even when we go to a supermarket that is comparable to a supermarket in the Netherlands then we are in the clouds, we enjoy watching watch do not buy .... hahaha. It shows again how spoiled we were and how wonderful it is to simplify your life. We enjoy so much more of this kind of day. Wil je een dagje relaxen en blauw water zien, dan is Jacana zeker een aanrader. De entree is wel prijzig maar je kunt er dan ook heel de dag zwemmen tot laat in de avond. We wanted to spend a day on the Suriname River, so we rented a boat for the whole day. Conversely, you rent a boat for 50 euros and then we went with 12 men. We wanted to do some things, see dolphins, to the plantation, Frederik village and fish. Half an year back, we had already done this and it was so good that we certainly wanted to do that again. We wilde een dagje op de Suriname rivier doorbrengen, dus dat wil zeggen dat we een boot hebben gehuurd  voor de hele dag. Omgerekend huur je voor 50 euro een boot en dan waren we met 12 man. We wilde een aantal dingen doen. Dolfijnen spotten, naar de plantage Frederik dorp en vissen. It's vacation for the childeren and that means that we are in the city (paramaribo) Het is vakantie voor de kinderen dus dat  wil zeggen dat we weer naar de stad (paramaribo) zijn.  The first day there was a circuit assembly. It was nice to meet old friends that we got to know two years ago, to see new friends and to meet new people. De eerste dag hier was er kringvergadering. Erg leuk om oude vrienden te zien die we twee jaar geleden hier hebben leren kennen, nieuwe vrienden te zien en nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten . We are staying whit friends and they arrange to go somewhere. The water there was too high, so they arrange that we are going to bakkaboto's. We are staying near lelydorp, so we have to drive for 2,5 hour's and that means to get up early. Degene waarbij we logeren hadden iets geregeld om naartoe te gaan. Het water bleek te hoog te zijn dus hebben ze op het laatste geregeld dat we naar bakkaboto gaan. We verblij...

It immediately felt good when we got here and we can really say that we feel at home here. Many warned us that we could get homesick, but actually we wonder if we will ever get homesick. Occasionally I have to sit down to realize that we live in Suriname, South America continent ..... It sounds far away but it feels like home. I do not know whether we ever call the Netherlands home again, the this other life is good for us. That is not to say that we stay here forever, but we'll see what time brings. Het voelde meteen goed toen we hier aankwamen en we kunnen ook echt zeggen dat we ons hier thuis voelen. Vele waarschuwde ons dat we heimwee konden krijgen, maar eigenlijk vragen we ons af of we ooit heimwee gaan krijgen. Af en toe moet ik er echt even voor gaan zitten om te beseffen dat we in Suriname wonen, het continent Zuid Amerika..... Het klinkt zover weg, maar het voelt thuis. Ik weet ook niet of wij Nederland ooit weer thuis gaan noemen, het andere leven bevalt o...
