Suriname

It where two busy weeks with the circuit assembly and the week after, the circuit overseer, but we enjoyed these weeks. Friday was of course the cleaning and everything was arranged for the circuit assembly. Cleaning can be very fun if you do this with all your friends. Also, many chairs had to be rented for all the people who would come. Luke was allowed to stick the new theme for the "Keep Your Love for Jehovah" circuit assembly. Het waren twee drukke weken met de kring en de week erna de kringopziener, maar we hebben genoten van deze weken. Vrijdag was natuurlijk de schoonmaak en werd alles geregeld voor de kringvergadering. Het schoonmaken kan heel gezellig zijn als je dit met zijn alle doet.  Ook moesten er weer veel stoelen gehuurd worden voor alle personen die zouden komen. Luke mocht helpen met de nieuwe thema plakken voor de kringvergadering " Behoud je liefde voor Jehovah"       Always nice to cuddle with the babies! A

If you want to relax for a day and see blue water then Jacana is definitely worth a visit. The entrance is pricey but you can swim all day long until late in the evening. Before we lived in Suriname and went on holiday we needed adventure. Now we live in Suriname, and that's one big adventure, and then we sometimes need these kinds of days. So we really enjoy the smallest things, only a hot shower feels so good, Or a cup of delicious cappuccino. Even when we go to a supermarket that is comparable to a supermarket in the Netherlands then we are in the clouds, we enjoy watching watch do not buy .... hahaha. It shows again how spoiled we were and how wonderful it is to simplify your life. We enjoy so much more of this kind of day. Wil je een dagje relaxen en blauw water zien, dan is Jacana zeker een aanrader. De entree is wel prijzig maar je kunt er dan ook heel de dag zwemmen tot laat in de avond. We wanted to spend a day on the Suriname River, so we rented a boat for the whole day. Conversely, you rent a boat for 50 euros and then we went with 12 men. We wanted to do some things, see dolphins, to the plantation, Frederik village and fish. Half an year back, we had already done this and it was so good that we certainly wanted to do that again. We wilde een dagje op de Suriname rivier doorbrengen, dus dat wil zeggen dat we een boot hebben gehuurd  voor de hele dag. Omgerekend huur je voor 50 euro een boot en dan waren we met 12 man. We wilde een aantal dingen doen. Dolfijnen spotten, naar de plantage Frederik dorp en vissen. Anderhalf jaar terug hadden we dit al gedaan en dat was zo goed bevallen dat we dat zeker nog eens wilde doen. We had to go to the boat at 10:00 and that is difficult with traffic in Paramaribo. It's vacation for the childeren and that means that we are in the city (paramaribo) Het is vakantie voor de kinderen dus dat  wil zeggen dat we weer naar de stad (paramaribo) zijn.  The first day there was a circuit assembly. It was nice to meet old friends that we got to know two years ago, to see new friends and to meet new people. De eerste dag hier was er kringvergadering. Erg leuk om oude vrienden te zien die we twee jaar geleden hier hebben leren kennen, nieuwe vrienden te zien en nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten . We are staying whit friends and they arrange to go somewhere. The water there was too high, so they arrange that we are going to bakkaboto's. We are staying near lelydorp, so we have to drive for 2,5 hour's and that means to get up early. Degene waarbij we logeren hadden iets geregeld om naartoe te gaan. Het water bleek te hoog te zijn dus hebben ze op het laatste geregeld dat we naar bakkaboto gaan. We verblij

It immediately felt good when we got here and we can really say that we feel at home here. Many warned us that we could get homesick, but actually we wonder if we will ever get homesick. Occasionally I have to sit down to realize that we live in Suriname, South America continent ..... It sounds far away but it feels like home. I do not know whether we ever call the Netherlands home again, the this other life is good for us. That is not to say that we stay here forever, but we'll see what time brings. Het voelde meteen goed toen we hier aankwamen en we kunnen ook echt zeggen dat we ons hier thuis voelen. Vele waarschuwde ons dat we heimwee konden krijgen, maar eigenlijk vragen we ons af of we ooit heimwee gaan krijgen. Af en toe moet ik er echt even voor gaan zitten om te beseffen dat we in Suriname wonen, het continent Zuid Amerika..... Het klinkt zover weg, maar het voelt thuis. Ik weet ook niet of wij Nederland ooit weer thuis gaan noemen, het andere leven bevalt o

Zoë had een nabezoek bij haar juf maar besloot toch maar eens een bijbelverhalen boek, een grootste onderwijzer boek en een brochure, mijn eerste bijbellessen, mee te nemen naar school.  Het filmpje van Sofie  over moedig zijn heeft ze altijd mooi gevonden, maar het was zo eng om zelf te doen. Maar.... ze heeft ineens die drempel overwonnen. De kinderen in de klas vonden deze boeken zo mooi dat ze die ook wel wilde hebben, dus de volgende ochtend vroeg naar de zaal, om wat boeken op te halen. Zoe had return visit whit her teacher but decided to bring, a Bible story book, a greatest teacher book and a brochure, my first Bible lessons, to school. The movie Sophie about how to be bold, she always liked, but it was so scary to do. But .... she suddenly overcome her fear. We waren hier vorig jaar al geweest, dus we wisten dat het er erg mooi was, maar dit jaar was het nog mooier.  Het staat bekent om zijn vele verschillende vogels waaronder de rode ibis. En daar gingen we dan ook onder andere voor.  We had been here last year so we knew it was very nice, but this year it was even better. It is known for its wide variety of birds, including the red ibis. . Maar tot onze grote verrassing was dat niet de enige mooie gekleurde vogel. Vorige jaar hebben we ze niet gezien, maar dit jaar zat bigi pan vol met flamingo's. Ik vond het hier wel uniek dat er hele groepen over ons heen vlogen. Ik heb nog nooit zo'n grote groep zien vliegen. Heel bigi pan is ondiep waardoor ze ook overal kunnen staan, zo uniek. But to our surprise it was not the only beautiful colorful bird. Na een lange reis waren we blij in apoera te zijn aangekomen. We mochten de komende week bij Romano en Trifosa logeren. Ze hebben een leuk gezellig huis boven de koninkrijk zaal. We hebben genoten van Romano's kookkunsten en de heerlijk warme douche, want die hebben wij niet. We waren hier ook met oudjaar en we zijn ons kapot geschrokken van het vuurwerk, het leken wel bommen die afgingen en dat is niet overdreven. Dat soort vuurwerk is echt illegaal in Nederland. Dat was echt een nieuwe beleving. Zoë raakte er zelfs door in paniek en Luke...... Ik zei altijd, als Luke slaapt kun je een bom laten vallen. Nou dat is zeker waar 😂 After a long journey we were glad to have arrived in Apoera. We were staying the week at Romano Trifosa. They have a nice cozy house above the kingdom hall. We enjoyed Romano's cooking and the delicious hot shower, because we do not have one. We were here New Year's Eve and we are devastated shocked by the fireworks, it seemed like bombs
